An investigation has taken place after a house partially collapsed following an explosion in Chesterfield.

Firefighters from Chesterfield, Staveley, Clay Cross and Nottingham Road attended the incident at a two-storey terraced property on St Helen’s Street at around 5.30pm yesterday, August 23.

An investigation by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service into the cause of the incident has now concluded the most likely cause to be an ‘accidental explosion due to a portable gas canister’.
