Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced yesterday, February 22, that the roadmap out of lockdown will include four stages.

He has announced that the final stage is anticipated to include the relaxation of all rules on June 21.

As part of stage two, non-essential shops, including those in Medowhall, will be allowed to reopen from April 12.

Currently, only essential stores are open in Meadowhall, such as Boots, Holland & Barrett, M&S, and Wilko, and many with reduced hours.

Stores such as Argos are also open for click and collect.

However, from April 12, all of these stores will be legally allowed to reopen, along with Primark, H&M, JD Sports, Clarks, Hamleys and many more.

Unfortunately popular clothes stores Topshop and Topman will not be returning to the shopping centre after pictures were shared of its closure by a member of staff.

The foodhall is currently closed for drinking or dining in, but some are currently offering takeaway or delivery options.

Outside dining and drinking at cafes, pubs and restaurants can also resume on April 12 – and it is unknown whether establishments at Meadowhall with an outside area, such as Wetherspoon’s, will decide to reopen on this date, as many landlords in Sheffield have decided it ‘is not worth it’.

The ‘roadmap’ suggests that the foodhall will reopen on May 17, when hospitality businesses can serve people indoors.
