Little Grace Cooper wanted to say a big thank you to workers keeping us safe during the crisis and came up with the idea of putting love hearts on display in the front window of her Holmewood home.

The hearts all feature names of key workers and the display has caused quite a stir online.

Grace’s mum, Lauren Liggatt, who is herself a key worker at Ability youth care in Chesterfield, said it all started as a way to keep busy during the lockdown.

“Initially we wanted to create a display in the window to beat the bordedom,” she said.

“Grace wanted to put the names of key workers on the love hearts. We started with friends and family but since it went on Facebook it has all gone a bit crazy.

“We’ve got hundreds of names now and I’ve got a huge pile which I need to put up. We’ve filled one window and now moving on to another one.

“Grace is really pleased with it and I am so proud of her. She said she wanted to thank the people who are working to keep us safe and well, and that is so nice of her.

“The response we’ve had has been awesome and people seem to love Grace’s idea.”

Grace attends Heath Primary School and has a 19-month-old sister, Willow.
