Brampton Manor did its bit to raise people's spirits after the national lockdown with a popular ‘Beach Club’ event meaning people didn't completely miss out on that holiday feeling this summer.

Now the venue, which dates back more than 400 years, is aiming to create an American vibe by hosting drive-in movies every Thursday from Bonfire Night until Christmas.

Managing director Craig Lynch said: “We all need to adapt to this new way of life and of course we all hope it is temporary.

"However, we feel it is important for people’s mental health and family lives to still have special things to look forward to.

"We can’t host our usual Bonfire Night Spectacular or Christmas Market but by providing these innovations we aim to keep people’s spirits up and keep our staff fully employed in what is a very difficult time for the hospitality sector.”

There will be two showings – a family friendly show and a ‘timeless classic’ for later.
