Derbyshire man took his own life after mental health battle

Polish-born shop assistant Leszek Sawicki, 60, was found dead at his home on Hazel Crescent, Shirebrook, on May 20 last year.

An inquest at Chesterfield Town Hall was told the cause of death was hanging because of mental health issues.

Assistant Derbyshire coroner Emme Serrano recorded a verdict of suicide after the hearing on April 7, which was held behind closed doors because of the coronavirus crisis.
