Medical professionals, community champions and business leaders are among the Derbyshire residents to have received accolades in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

The list hails many people for their remarkable efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rosemary Ann Drinkwater, who is originally from Chesterfield, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to higher education, innovation and enterprise.

She is group finance director at the University of Warwick, where she has worked since 1993.

Rosemary, a former pupil of St Helena girls’ school, still maintains links with Chesterfield.

She said of her OBE: “It is a team award for the amazing colleagues, family and friends who have supported me over the years and in particular the late Lord Bhattacharyya who was a significant driving force in my career.”
