Persimmon Homes will transform an 8.1-acre site in Darley Dale which will incorporate 20 affordable properties.
The firm says its Whitworth Dale development has been “sympathetically designed to reflect its picturesque surroundings” with the homes featuring many “architectural finishes traditionally associated with the local area”.
The site located south of Dale Road has long proved contentious, with residents’ groups and town councillors mobilising strong opposition over the years.
In 2017 around 35 households on Station Road, which runs along the boundary of the site grouped together to voice their opposition.
