Chesterfield's legendary goalscorer honoured by new 'wall of fame' at stadium

Ernie Moss played for Chesterfield over a period of 20 years, making 539 appearances and scoring a club record of 192 goals.

Now, a new ‘wall of fame’ will showcase his success and honour his memory at the Technique Stadium.

The move has been welcomed by the Moss family, who said: “As a family we would like to thank Chesterfield Football Club for honouring Ernie in this way.

“Ernie would be so proud to be classed as a legend for his hometown club and to have his name on a wall for generations to see.”

For £40, residents can secure a brick in the ‘Ernie Moss Wall of Fame’ as a lasting memento or purchase one as a Christmas gift for the Spireite in their lives.

The bricks can be engraved with up to two lines of lettering, with a maximum of 14 characters per line.

Each brick comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed by commercial manager Jim Brown.

The bricks will not be in place before Christmas, due to the pandemic, but the certificates will be supplied in time to provide as a gift.

There are a pre-determined number of bricks in the wall and they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
