Chesterfield’s Beat the Street game continues amid coronavirus crisis

Hide AdIt has so far attracted nearly 14,000 players who have covered more than 126,000 miles.
A spokesperson for Beat the Street said: “Beat the Street is continuing to follow Government advice regarding coronavirus.
“In light of recent announcements, the Beat the Street game itself will continue to operate as it takes place outdoors and in open spaces.

Hide Ad“Unfortunately, all events taking place as part of Beat the Street have been cancelled, so please keep an eye on the Beat the Street newsletter and social media for more information on this.
“If you have not been asked to self-isolate then you are welcome to continue to play individually along with members of your household and get some fresh air.
“Beat the Street is a physical activity programme that encourages people to get outside and walk or cycle more.

Hide Ad“The aim of Beat the Street is to increase physical activity and reduce stress.
“Both these factors have a significant effect on boosting the immune system.
“While playing the game we ask you to maintain a distance of at least two metres from other players, only touch the Beat Box with your card or fob (not your hands) and please don’t let anyone else use your card or fob.
