Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice launches paid-for services including counselling and bereavement support

The hospice said new services would brining their ‘hospice expertise’ to the ‘wider community’ and help fund free hospice care.

Ashgate Hospice is set to launch new paid services for communities across Derbyshire including counselling, bereavement support, and complementary therapies.

In the past, the hospice was able to offer free wellbeing and counselling services to families of patients receiving palliative care at their inpatient unit, but recently Ashgate made a number of cuts to their services quoting financial difficulties.

These included reducing the number of inpatient beds, a redundancy scheme and cuts to support available for patients’ families.
