Helen Howard, 39, logged a double win at the dog show after her five-year-old Shih Tzu, Cilla, won Best of Breed on Thursday followed by a win for her Hungarian Vizsla, Lana, in Best of Breed on Friday.

“I’m absolutely over the moon, especially as it was a last minute decision to enter her Cilla on Thursday,” Helen said after her win at the NEC in Birmingham.

Up to 20,000 dogs, including more than 3,000 from overseas, have been taking part in Crufts, which aims to celebrate the unique relationship people have with their dogs.

Crufts is named after its founder Charles Cruft.

It was first held at the Royal Agricultural Hall, Islington, in 1891.
