“The Compassionate Friends is a charitable organisation which offers peer-to-peer support for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents.“That means that bereaved, usually parents, can talk to and meet a fellow bereaved parent – someone who has been through a similar devastating experience.

“When we had to suspend all face-to-face meetings, the Compassionate Friends worked quickly to move as many of our various forms of support as possible online and the organisation now has a range of measures in place to ensure that we can meet the needs of people seeking help.”

The Compassionate Friends was set up in 1969 and expanded across the UK and abroad during the following years.
