Bosses at the Spotted Frog, in Brampton, worked with artist Pete Barber to create the colourful mural to thank everyone who is supporting the community amid the coronavirus crisis.

The pub has joined forces with The Butchers Arms in Brimington to ask anyone who sees the mural and likes it to donate £1 to NHS Charities Together.

A spokesperson for the Spotted Frog said: “As part of the wider community, we really wanted to do something to show our support and appreciation, but were unsure as to what.

“We had discussed having some sort of mural on the wall previously, then it clicked. How fitting, appropriate, lasting and rather large this would be.”

The fundraising has also been supported by Chesterfield artist Pete, Helen Rowan Photography and Just Cars Chesterfield.

Chesterfield residents have taken to Facebook to congratulate the pub and give their thumbs-up to the mural.

Sarah Smith said: “Thank you for this – I walk home from the Royal past it after busy shifts it makes me smile. I can’t wait to have a pint sat in front of it.”

And Sharon Birch posted: “What a brilliant idea and great tribute to the NHS.”
