Chesterfield Pride to return next year with 'biggest and best' event yet

Chesterfield Pride – the region's biggest Pride event – will return in 2021.

Hide AdAfter the disappointment of not having an event this summer, plans are well underway to make 2021 the biggest and best yet.
Organiser Dan Walker said: “We have two stages packed with amazing entertainment from international chart busting acts Big Brovaz, Booty luv, Brother Beyond's Nathan Moore and clubland legend Kelly llorenna, along with talented local acts including Clear Vinyl, Yesterday's Gone and HBBRD.”
The event is set to take place at Stand Road on July 18, 2021.

Hide AdChesterfield Pride is open to everyone. The event has grown year on year and 2019 saw more than 6,000 attend the one-day extravaganza.
Mr Walker added: "I am really proud how far the event has come.
"This year has been really disappointing for everyone involved with the event and we look forward to next year and making the event even better.

Hide Ad"We actively working with Chesterfield Borough Council in making the event even bigger with events happening over the whole weekend.”
To make up for the disappointment of this year’s event being cancelled, Mr Walker hosted a number of ‘Lockdown Parties’ on Facebook during the coronavirus crisis, where people could request songs and chat about previous events.
He said: “The Lockdown party was an idea to have me DJing from home where people could request songs, talk about previous events and what they are looking forward to.

Hide Ad"Many people were feeling locked away from their friends, so by running a live stream people could communicate and interact with requesting songs and talking to each other."
