Chesterfield Pride hopes to go ahead as planned despite coronavirus crisis

Events up and down the country have been cancelled over recent weeks as the coronavirus crisis deepens – but the Pride team say they are still ‘excited’ about this year’s celebration and currently have no plans to call it off.

Hide AdChesterfield has one of the fastest growing Pride events in the country and it is due to take place this year at Stand Road Park on July 19.
“We at Chesterfield Pride take great pride in providing a safe and secure event,” organisers of the event posted on social media.
“We are aware of events being cancelled because of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. We currently have no plans to cancel the event but will continue to take advice from the relevant authorities on this matter.

Hide Ad“We are passionate about Chesterfield Pride and we are really excited about this summer’s event. We will continue to do our best to provide a first class event for everyone to enjoy.”
The team says tickets already bought will be refunded if the event does not go ahead.
“Until we know any different, we will continue to plan and make the event the best it can be,” they added.

“Please stay vigilant and look out for loved ones,” the statement adds.

Hide AdIn 2019 nearly 7,000 people attended Chesterfield Pride and this year will mark the sixth year of the event.
DJ and Chesterfield Pride organiser Dan Walker is also hosting Lockdown Parties on Facebook during the coronavirus crisis where people can request songs and chat about previous events.
