Matt Moore, of MattMoore Photography, ran a competition offering any front line NHS worker set to marry in 2021 a free wedding photography package as a thank you for their heroism during the pandemic.

The Chesterfield-based photographer then held a live draw on his Facebook page – with the lucky winners being chosen as Dan and his fiancée Hannah, who works for the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS foundation Trust.

They married earlier this month in a ceremony at Stretton Manor Barn near Clay Cross, with Matt on hand to capture all the lovely moments from the big day.

Matt, who has been photographing weddings since 2017, said: “My father-in-law contracted Covid-19 but was lucky to have the NHS to support him and he regained full health.

“My sister-in-law is also a nurse at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and worked directly on the Covid units at the time. She would tell me of the pressures and upset they were enduring.

"It was just to say thank you very much. I couldn’t do anything else and it wasn’t about promotion to me but I just said lets do something nice because it was a really bad time last year.”

He added: “Dan and Hannah were the lucky ones and they had an awesome wedding and I was able to capture it for them. For them, they mostly saved money that they could spend elsewhere but, ultimately, it was just something nice I wanted to do.”

Hannah said: “I never in a million years expected to win, however whilst working as a frontline worker through the most difficult and challenging times of my career, I found out we had won! We were ecstatic, we never win anything and having been offered a photography package for our wedding as a gift was a massive help.

"When our wedding day arrived Matt and Tom made us all feel so comfortable and captured the vibes of our day perfectly. We have recently received a few of our photos back and we absolutely love them.

"Matt is extremely talented, and his generosity will not be forgotten. We will definitely be recommending Matt to our family and friends, and we cannot thank him enough.”
