Jack Wynne and Kennedy Brankin tied the knot at Bakewell Register Office and, still in their wedding outfits, went directly to Newholme Hospital to share their happy news with staff.

The podiatrists were forced to change their original marriage plans because of the ban on large-scale gatherings arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple first met while working for the podiatry team at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust.

Jack said: “We are now the fourth married couple in the podiatry department! Both our folks are chiropodists as well!”

A senior divisional podiatry manager, Jack has also been involved in the pandemic response work for Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust over the past few months.

Kennedy is a specialist community podiatrist and manages podiatry rotas in Chesterfield and north-east Derbyshire. She has been especially busy during the pandemic, ensuring patients continue to receive the care they need alongside her colleagues.

The newly-weds posed for photos outside Newholme Hospital with their cherished vintage Land Rover.

Jack said: “I’m Land Rover mad but I bought this just when Kennedy and I got together.

"We have had many adventures together in ‘Linda the Land Rover’.”
