Chesterfield model Daniella Allfree launches 7th calendar - four years after darts walk on girls were banned from televised tournaments

Daniella and fellow model Charlotte Wood launched their 2023 calendar this week and it’s selling like hot cakes. “The response to this year’s calendar has been overwhelming,” said Daniella, who has 80,000 followers on Instagram and Twitter. “It will be sure to be a sell out before December – 80% of the stock went in the first hour of pre orders.

“The calendars really have become collectible. We started producing a Darts Girl calendar in 2017 and can’t believe we still have the support of darts fans that encourage us every year to produce another calendar.”

Such support has heartened Daniella and Charlotte since they were axed as walk on girls from Professional Darts Competition (PDC) televised events. The PDC announced in 2018 that the duo would no longer be used at its tournaments ‘following feedback from host broadcasters’.

Daniella said: “An online petition (to bring back walk on girls) set up by a darts fan reached 50,000 signatures. The ban was a huge shock as walk on girls had been around since the 80s.

"I had been a PDC walk on girl for six years and Charlotte three years when the ban came into effect. The job was incredible; we toured with the premier league of darts, walking professional darts players on the stage in front of up to a 10,000 strong crowd.

She added: "Myself and Charlotte still love and follow the darts and remain close friends with the darts players and their families. We still work at not-televised darting events across the country.”

Former Tupton Hall School student Daniella and Charlotte, who lives in Leicester, are both 34 years old. They were photographed for their 2023 calendar by Simon Eccles at The Boardwalk studio in Derby.
