A spokesperson for Chesterfield Foodbank said: “The pandemic has changed the way we work – with us unfortunately having to give food to our clients at the door rather than invite them in for a cuppa and a chat.

“The increased demand led us to open our fifth centre and we now provide food to local people in crisis every weekday from our centres around Chesterfield.

“In total, 54 tonnes of food was donated to the foodbank in 2020 by the generous people of Chesterfield which has enabled us to continue to support local people in crisis.

“Thank you to all our donors and volunteers for everything.

“We can’t do this without you.”
