Daniel Phillips, of Calow says his son’s two-year-old, black and tanned Saluki greyhound cross Freya moved into his home just days ago.

“My son Leon has moved from Barrow Hill with Freya to my house in Calow, while we are sorting his new house out around the corner,” Daniel said.

“So the dog had only been at my house three days.

"We let her out of the crate to get some water, at which point she ran out of the front door,. She was chased round the village by numerous people for a couple of hours but then disappeared.”

Daniel said a man had been in touch last night at 9pm to say he had seen Freya near the roundabout at Arkwright, but there have been no further sightings.

Freya stands 23in in height and Leon has been her only owner.
