Freedom was set up in 2008 to support people who are struggling with poverty.

The charity provides benefits advice, mental health support and a foodbank for vulnerable people.

The good cause also organises a range of free and low-cost activities for the people it supports.

Richard Cowlishaw-Ellison, site leader at Amazon in Barlborough, said: “We’re proud to support organisations like Freedom, who make a real difference in our community.

“The charity’s staff and volunteers have been a great support to people in Bolsover during Covid-19 and we want to lend a helping hand with this donation.”

Sharon Bagshaw, who nominated Freedom for donation, said: “I’m really pleased that Amazon is supporting Freedom with this donation.

“The charity provides a vital service for many in our community.”

“This has been a hugely challenging year and donations like these ensure we are able to keep helping those who need us most.”

Freedom received the donation as part Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
