Charity shops need your support after lockdown hits takings

Charity shop volunteers are reaching out for donations of unwanted goods and customers as they reopen this month following lockdown.

The British Heart Foundation, which has 750 shops around the country, estimates that the crisis has cost the charity £10million a month.

Chesterfield, Matlock, Alfreton, Ripley, Ilkeston, Long Eaton and Buxton all have shops run by the charity.

Just £16 worth of your donations can support an early career scientist in carrying out an hour’s research into cardiac conditions. If your donations raised £100, this would fund a DNA extraction kit to identify genes linked to heart and circulatory diseases.
