Six-year-old Taylor Marsh, of Shirebrook, has embarked on the challenge because he wants to help doctors and nurses in their battle against coronavirus.
The pupil at Park Federation School in Shirebrook was determined to do his bit, and told parents Craig and Danielle that he would cycle 100 miles in 10 days.

“We’re so proud of everything he is doing.”
Craig added: “He obviously understands that he can’t go out properly to school or to play with friends, because of what’s happening.
“We show him all the brilliant things people are doing for the NHS and he asked if he could do anything so we said why not do a bike ride because he loves being on his bike.”
Taylor’s challenge began on Sunday, May 3.
“We split the rides between myself and his mum,” Craig said. “So one day I will be with him then the next her, and so on.”
