Pedal through the Peak District on a hired trike

It’s three and easy for visitors to the national park, following the delivery of four new lightweight tricycles.

The trikes are aimed at people who want to explore the area but cannot ride a traditional bicycle, either due to mobility issues or because they have never learned to ride a two-wheeled machine.

Bought thanks to a £2,000 grant from the CLA Charitable Trust, the trikes can be hired from Parsley Hay cycle centre, which sits at the junction of the High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail.

Helen Bower, cycle hire manager at the Peak District National Park Authority, said: “Our tricycles are the most popular pieces of specialist equipment that we have here at Parsley Hay, and are regularly hired out by a wide range of users. Our customers include people recovering from strokes or with balance or mobility problems.”
