PEAK: £1m investment to water pipes

Severn Trent Water’s programme manager, Dave Cottom, said: “To make sure our customers’ water supply in the Bamford, Hope and Bradwell areas of High Peak is protected; we’re investing more than £1 million in improvements. Our contractor, Enterprise, has already installed more than 8,000 metres of brand new water pipes on our behalf to help prevent further bursts.

“We met with the local community to understand their needs and incorporated their feedback into our plans, where possible. The latest stage of our work will see us installing new water pipes along Stretfield Road, from Burgwash Bridge in Brough, through to the junction of Hope Road. We’re working with local bus companies, Derbyshire County Council and parish councils, to organise alternative routes for the community. We’ll start work this Monday (3 June 2013) and aim to complete within four weeks; we’d like to ask motorists to allow extra time for their journeys as a result.”
