Peak District railway line petition continues
Last year, Neil Greg and Matt Marshall launched an online petition calling for the Derbyshire County Council to commission a feasibility study into the prospect of reopening the railway line between Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock. The petition now has more than 2,600 supporters.
The line closed in 1968, however the pair believe that reopening it would bring tourists to the area and help local businesses, as well as being a useful local resource for people living in the Peak District.
