In addition to giving students easy access to the surrounding Peak District National Park, the location of the classrooms offers them a chance to see an important industrial operation up close.

The indoor classroom can accommodate up to 25 students and offers audio-visual and IT facilities. The outdoor space has a wooden seated area and enables students to take a closer look at local biodiversity. Peak District National Park Authority chief executive Jim Dixon said: “This is a fantastic new facility that will help more young people experience the wonder of nature in the Peak District National Park.”
