Peak businesses support Africa through Village Aid
Three Peak businesses have pledged to help deliver safe water to villages in rural Cameroon by supporting Bakewell charity Village Aid.
Money raised for the Cameroon Water Appeal will help remote farming communities in the north west where cattle grazers and crop farmers are in conflict over access to precious natural resources such as land and water.
Antony Allen, of The Bakewell Soap Company, on Buxton Road, is donating 20p for every litre of water used in his soap production business to the campaign.
The Village Green Café, on The Square, in Eyam, is supporting the charity by encouraging customers who have a free tap water with their order to make a donation to the appeal.
Holiday accommodation provider, The Dove Valley Centre, in Sheen, Longnor, are donating £1 to Village Aid for every booking they take.
Village Aid is working to reduce conflict in 14 communities through provision of safe water and conflict resolution dialogue platforms.
