PARKING WARS: Tradesman gets ticket after visiting Wickes twice in one day
Shaun Sabin-Farrell, who runs his own woodcraft business, received the fine last month after he was picked up on an automatic number plate recognition system (ANPR) at Wickes on Wheatbridge Road.
The letter he received says on September 8 he was in the car park from 9.30am to 4pm - but the cameras failed to pick him up leaving and going back in between.

Hide AdHe said: “It’s not unusual for me to visit Wickes twice in one day as I am sure is the case for many builders and businesses needing supplies.
“It’s ridiculous because I live on Old Hall Road in Brampton so if I wanted to go in town I would just walk.
“They obviously haven’t checked the camera footage as they would have seen me leaving and going back.”
Shaun, 50, says that until this incident he often shopped in Wickes but will not be going back until it is sorted out.

Hide AdHe now wants to warn others and says he will take the matter all the way to court if he needs to.
He added: “I have appealed the charge sent to me by G24 but this has been rejected so I now have to go to an independent appeal.
“I am disgusted and incredibly frustrated by the time this has taken up and the stress it is causing me.
“I think people need warning about this as it could easily happen to someone else.”
The Derbyshire Times contacted G24, the company that operates the system for Wickes but they declined to comment.
