It identifies parts of an historic lead mining area known as Rainslow Scrins. The second panel has been installed below Elton, near Burycliffe quarry. This tells of pulping stones shipped to Scandinavia for paper-making and how the spring provides most of Elton’s drinking water. There are pictures of motorcycle trials champion Mick Andrews who lived in the village. The panels are the work of Elton Local History Group and were funded by the Peak District National Park’s Sustainable Development Fund.
