LETTER: Pavement is not for parking

I'm really annoyed at how frequently vehicle owners are taking to parking fully or partially on the pavements.

On Pilsley Road, where the Parkhouse pub once stood, is a construction site and the workers are now taking to parking all their vehicles on the curbs, pavements and grass verges, making a car park.

No-one with either a push chair or invalidity scooter can navigate round the vehicles as they are normally so tightly packed together.

Only recently, on my way to work did one such worker pull literally in front of me cutting my access and journey off. When confronted he just lifted what looked like bacon butty. I had to then walk round the Transit van and continue my journey on the road. This is unacceptable.

I have called 101 and left a message for the local police force, the station being only a few hundred metres away, but obviously nothing has been done.

This is really getting out of hand and someone has to do something about it.
