One of Derbyshire’s largest ever art projects underway

One of Derbyshire’s largest ever art projects is now underway, following a successful public preview of Derwent Pulse at Ladybower Reservoir .

Crowds of onlookers gathered on Ashopton Viaduct and along the edges of Ladybower Reservoir to watch enthralled as hundreds of pulsating, floating spheres lit up the water.

The multi-coloured lights are all GPS equipped and respond to their changing locations, so that one evening last week they created an amazing spectrum of light and movement across the reservoir.

Ladybower is at the start of the spheres’ month-long journey along the 66-mile River Derwent,

shepherded all the way by local schools and community groups.
