Northern Lights could dazzle Derbyshire's sky TONIGHT
The aurora borealis lit up the skies above northern Scotland on Tuesday night - and the phenomenon could be enjoyed by sky watchers across our county this evening.
Caused by the collision between gas particles in the earth's upper atmosphere and charged particles from the sun, the light can cause spectacular displays.

Hide AdA Met Office spokesman said: "The disturbance is strong tonight and the skies could be clear for many so the chances of seeing the aurora are good."
The best time to see the Northern Lights is between 10pm and 2am.
