NEW PICTURES: Chesterfield town centre road closed after serious collision between lorry and pedestrian

A major road in Chesterfield town centre is currently closed due to a serious accident involving a lorry and a pedestrian.

Emergency services including police, paramedics and air ambulance are at the scene on A619 Markham Road following the incident which happened at 3.47pm.

There is very slow traffic in both directions between the A632 Hollis Lane junction and the Park Road junction.

The police at the scene said the injured pedestrian was a woman and she had been involved in a collision with a lorry.

They added that she had serious but not life-threatening injuries.

There is still emergency access to the hospital.
