During her training, Lucy worked alongside her team on a number of incidents including helping to trace a missing person from the area.

Throughout the operation, Lucy carried out a search for the resident, conducted house to house enquiries and also offered advice and support once he had been found safe and well.

PCSO Naughton also helped with a number of incidents including road traffic collisions and traffic control.

Lucy, who is currently being tutored by PCSO Marrion Jeffery, will be on patrol throughout the area over the coming weeks to introduce herself to the local community.

PCSO Lucy Naughton said: “I have always wanted to be a part of the police, especially Derbyshire Constabulary as it is my local force, so I enrolled on the Uniformed Public Services course at Chesterfield College.

“So far, it has proved how the role of a PCSO brings something different each day and our work can help to make a positive impact on local communities.

“I can’t wait to learn more about the community and meet local residents so that they feel confident in approaching me and confiding me about any issues they may have.

“Over the coming months I aim to work more closely with youngsters to help improve any issues of anti-social behaviour in the area by offering them somewhere to go and meet with their friends in a safe environment – we already have some Easter activities in place.”

Lucy will be joining colleagues Sergeant Simon Street and PCSO Marrion Jeffrey.
