New Mills Arts Festival’s Town Trail revealed

The event, which takes place from May 17 until June 1, involves more than 70 artists displaying their work in unusual places and spaces, windows and pop-up venues across the town.

Turning New Mills into a gallery, the trail can be viewed at any time, and creates opportunities for residents and visitors going about their daily business to encounter a wide range of contemporary art practice including painting, film, sculpture, installation, drawing and performative works, inviting audience participation.

Venues include HP Dowell and Sons, Rowcliffes, Apex Travel, Lighthouse, Moran’s Opticians, Simply Indian and The Royal Oak, on Market Street; The Paw Wash, on Torr Top Street; Framed and The Music Studio, on Albion Road; Nevett and Taylor, The Alternative Health Clinic, Sett Valley Cycles, Sutherland Reay, Shamis Saffron and A Allen and Son, on Union Road; New Mills Decor, The Queen’s Arms and Jeremy Unsworth Funeral Directors, on Church Road; and Medulla Hair Studio and Niche Beauty, on High Street.
