She said: “We are hoping to keep everything the pub is known for and add a few new things as well.

“It’s always been a big football pub and we are hoping to get the darts and pool teams running again.

“We’ll also be having poker nights and bingo, live entertainment and good value prices, of course.”

As for the live entertainment, Hannah is keen to point out the venue’s ever popular GrouseFest music festival will continue under her management.

The annual event - which is held in aid of much-loved local charity, Ashgate Hospice - will takes place at August bank holiday.

Chesterfield born and bred Hannah has moved to the Grouse from Hasland’s Devonshire Arms - which she ran for two years.

She says that they already have most of their new staff in place at the Grouse but are still looking for ‘one or two’ more new faces to complete their team.

“We have actually kept a few of the staff so things remain recognisable for people,” she said.

“Speaking to some of the regulars, they have been going into town instead of coming here - but they are definitely ready to get their local back.”
