The plan is yet to be approved by Chesterfield Borough Council.

Chesterfield Borough Council has received a planning application from Chesterfield man Justin Fleming to open a bar at 37 Holywell Street.

That building used to be occupied by the Formal Affair bridal shop, which closed at the end of last year after the company went into administration.

In the planning application, Mr Fleming stated: "This property is currently empty.

"Previously it was a bridal shop.

"I would like to change the use to a bar.

"I wish to install further toilet facilities.

"I am in conversation with Chesterfield council to establish if a fire escape at the rear of the property is required.

"If it is then I will install.

"This will involve putting a door at the rear of the property and ensuring a safe fire exit."

The bar would be open between noon and 11pm Monday to Thursday, noon and 1am on Friday and Saturday and noon and 11pm on Sunday.
