Mountain rescue team helps injured woman near Hathersage

A mountain rescue team helped a woman who needed medical treatment after falling on ice in the Derbyshire countryside.

Members of Derby Mountain Rescue Team said they were training with Edale Mountain Rescue Team at Surprise View on Saturday, January 16, when they were called to the incident at Cutthroat Bridge.

A spokesman for the team said a 50-year-old woman had been out with her walking club when she slipped on ice, fracturing and dislocating her ankle.

Both teams attended the scene, according to the spokesman, and worked together to treat and move the casualty to the road where they were met by a land ambulance.
