Alan Haywood, 77, was spotted in New Whittington last night by a member of the public who had seen the appeal to find him on Facebook.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: “He’s now having a medical check-up and has been reunited with his family.
“Officers would like to thank everyone who has helped.”
