Matlock's M&S Foodhall opens its doors

Matlock's new M&S Foodhall opened its doors today, welcoming over 1,000 customers in the first hour.

The Crown Square store was officially opened by Mayor Councillor Stephen Flitter and store manager Nicola Vallance and her colleagues.

Nicola said: “I’m thrilled to welcome the local community into M&S Matlock and show off the fantastic work that has gone into our new Foodhall over the last couple of months.

“It’s been great to hear customer feedback and I’m confident our extensive product range will appeal to locals and visitors from further afield. “I look forward to welcoming even more customers over the coming weeks.”

The new store features an extensive bakery, and customers will also be able to take advantage of the Shop Your Way service which gives them the option to have their M&S.com orders delivered to the store for free.

Local resident Natalie Kohut, who was one of the first customers through the door, said: “I am so pleased to have M&S on our high street – there’s a fantastic selection of fresh foods and I’m amazed with how much choice there is. I’m only here for the essentials today as I’m off to cook a quiche, but I will definitely be coming back again! It’s such a great addition to Matlock and is certain to bring people into the high street.”
