Matlock ice leaves vehicles stranded

Days after snow fell in Matlock, motorists are still suffering due to the icy conditions.

Residents awoke this morning to hazardous roads white with ice.

Gav Slater sent the Mercury this picture of a bus stranded at the top of Woolley Road at 8.30am today (Wednesday, December 31).

The police were called in to assist when the bus skidded to a halt at the junction with Smedley Street.

The road was closed until the vehicle was moved at 9.05am.
