Chesterfield Astronomical Society will celebrate earth’s nearest neighbour during an open evening from 7pm on Saturday, October 8.

Held at the society’s Barnett Observatory on Hastings Close, Newbold, the event will give young and old the chance to view the celestial body through various telescopes.

Talks and trips around the observatory will also take place, with society members on hand to answer any questions.
