Man in hospital with serious injuries after house fire in Derbyshire village

Firefighters, police and the air and land ambulance were called to the blaze at a house on High Street, Tibshelf, at 12.50pm.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and a joint fire and police investigation is ongoing.”

Hide AdDean Gazzard, group manager at Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We received a call to attend the fire from a neighbour who had seen smoke coming out of the front door.
“On arrival fire crews were met by a well-developed fire on the ground floor of the property.
“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters entered the building and rescued one male casualty from the first floor.
“The casualty was handed into the care of paramedics and taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.”
