Man found lying in the middle of Derbyshire road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was found lying in the middle of a road in Derbyshire following an assault.

The 55-year-old victim was reported to have been attacked by three men in the Normanton area of Derby.

The assault took place on Pear Tree Road, near to the Pear Tree Carpets and Furniture store, at about 6.30pm on August 21.

Police believe there were a number of witnesses to the assault and are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

The victim was left with minor facial injuries and was taken by ambulance to Royal Derby Hospital for treatment.
