Man denies Peak District sheep rustling charge

Andrew Piner, of Mill Lane, Gisburn, Clitheroe, pleaded not guilty to stealing 49 sheep from a Hathersage farm when he appeared at High Peak Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Andrew Piner pleaded not guilty to theft when he appeared at High Peak Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday.

The charge relates to sheep valued at £5,635, which were taken from North Lees Farm on September 17.

The case has been adjourned until January 28 for a trial. Piner, 48, of Mill Lane, Gisburn, Clitheroe, was released on unconditional bail.
