Man beaten to the ground by two thugs in Derbyshire town

A man has been beaten in a brutal attack by two thugs who knocked him to the ground and kicked his head, it is alleged.

Derbyshire police are appearing for information after the shocking attack on Thursday, May 26.

At around 10.25pm by the side of the White Swan on the Market Place in Belper, a 35 year-old man was knocked to the ground and hit and kicked in his head and body by two men, and suffered cuts and bruising.

Officers said: "The two men, who are described as being of a stocky build and wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, are alleged to have come from the direction of St. Peter’s Church.

"They headed back in the same direction following the incident."
