Man attacked Armed Response Unit officer with a hockey stick

A member of the Derbyshire Armed Response Unit was attacked by a hockey stick.

The incident happened at around 9pm on Wednesday, June 13, to White Edge Close, Chesterfield due to concerns for the safety of a 26-year-old man.

The man was later arrested on suspicion of affray.

The Derbyshire Armed Response Team tweeted: “Another incredibly busy night shift. Saw a male, who we had been asked to check on for his welfare, attack our crew with a hockey stick.

“Thankfully our staff were able to retreat sufficient to draw and discharge TASER.

“Male now in custody.”
