Man assaulted in Heanor

Officers are appealing for more information after an man was assaulted in Heanor.

On Sunday, January 11 at around 7am a man was walking along Peatburn Avenue when he was approached by two men. They asked him for money, the man refused and carried on walking.

He then felt a blow to the side of his face and he fell to the floor. He stood up and punched one of the men who then ran off.

The victim chased the men until he reached an alleyway near to Derby Road.

The men were described as being around 18-years-old and were wearing dark coloured clothing.
