Man arrested after Shirebrook drugs raid

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of drugs charges after a raid in Shirebrook.

Officers carried out a warrant at an address in Brunner Avenue, Shirebrook on Thursday, June 9.

A number of suspected cannabis plants were found during the search and have been seized.

A 47 year-old from the area, was arrested by police on suspicion of production of cannabis and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Sgt. Mark Church, of the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Drug related activity can be harmful to the community and we will always follow up on any information we receive.

“The support and help of the local residents is very valuable to us and I would ask that people get in touch if they have any information about the misuse of illegal substances, or see any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood, as it really helps us to target anti-social behaviour and keep our area safe.”
